Saving Hamlet by Molly Booth

Find in catalogEmma is a self-proclaimed Shakespeare nerd. She loves the bard and knows the plays well. She has found a home with the high school drama group, acting as the stage manager for their production of Hamlet. When you’re 15, life can be confusing and frustrating and Emma is no exception. One day she falls through the trap door on the high school stage and finds herself below the stage of the Globe theater in London in the early 1600s, listening to Shakespeare’s acting troupe run through the first ever production of Hamlet. Fun, fast moving, and full of teen angst and Shakespeare, this YA book kept me up half the night enjoying Emma’s navigation between the ages and through the joys and sorrows of stage managing and crushes and friendship. Recommend for all who enjoy a bit of time travel, the theater, and Shakespeare.
