The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan, by Kim Barker

Find in catalogThe tale of the shuffle between Afghanistan and Pakistan of a Tina Fey-ish journalist is both entertaining and enlightening. The combination of culture and war that result in the so called Kabul high opens a door into what is really going on when politicians talk and the reality continues regardless. The war to me, at least, seemed too distant and unsure- this book brought a light to another reality, and for that I am thankful. I can see that reality is always more complicated than headlines seem and it shows how life is behind the talk of war.
