Tiny Houses Built with Recyced Materials, by Ryan Mitchell

Find in catalogI didn’t think living in a tiny house is for me, but as the first page of this book says, “The essence of a tiny home is not the square footage, it is not space-saving storage, it is not a particular style or design practice. Rather, a tiny house is a structure that provides everything you need to live your best life in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.” And I do appreciate thinking about how to make that happen in my life, how to use space wisely, have just the things I love and need nearby, and cut down on my carbon footprint. Having said that, some of these houses are indeed TINY! 70 square feet, 90 square feet. A family of four living in 220 square feet! The book looks at twenty small houses, what reclaimed materials they used in building, how they heat their homes and water, and how they came to embrace the tiny home mentality. Lots of pictures of cool homes with many gorgeous and practical design elements.

I agree with your review, this book has visually stunning photos of tiny homes and is inspiring for anyone considering ‘going tiny’. I like the tiny home movement because it helps you consider your footprint on our planet and living more lightly– as well as designing your own personal living space.
