The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien

The Fellowship of the RingNow, this was fun to finally get to read this book! I can’t believe it has taken me so long to get to it. For surely, the book that spawned Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings is wonderful! Tolkien’s attention to detail is delightful and it paints such a vivid picture of the world that one is temporarily transported to a whole new place. A plenty of stories have created a new world; as if the author themselves have been on a trip to the place and have only come back now to write about it. But this book surely takes the cake! I am more convinced than any other story ever written or dreamed is not as real as this! Not Grimm’s or Harry Potter’s; they are made up tales but this place might actually be real.

It’s actually how I pictured it. Everything is absolutely wonderful and he doesn’t leave a single thing out. All the characters are all just so wonderful and I can see all the places and people. And it only gets better from the movie, which is understandable, a movie can only do so much. I love the background that the book is able to give. I still kinda wish that Arwen saved Frodo from the black riders but ya can only have so much. Movies have to make things a little more obvious so that they can get to the point quickly and so that everyone will catch on. Tolkien is in absolutely no hurry to go anywhere; it’s quite a journey that you go on. I have to say I absolutely fall even deeper in love with the characters!
