The Midwife of Hope River by Patricia Harman

The Midwife of Hope RiverThis was a great book with a unique twist on midwifery and the depression years. It builds the characters well but still lets you add your own imaginative ideas to what life might have been like. I loved how it dealt with hard issues (the klu klux klan, racism, sexual orientation, Iove and death) in a respectful, honest way.
