The Gerbil Farmer’s Daughter by Holly Robinson

The Gerbil Farmer's DaughterHolly Robinson’s father is a Navy officer who becomes intrigued with the idea of breeding gerbils for fun and profit. What starts as a few gerbils in the garage turns into a full fledged farming operation with over 6,000 tiny animals. The whole family works at the operation in various capacities. This is a very funny and charming coming of age story in a rather unusual family. Readers who grew up in the 60’s and 70’s will definitely relate to the story.

Available in print at the library.
