The Absent One by Jussi Adler-Olsen

absent oneWell sorry to say I do not recommend this book. I read 80% of it then the rape and violence was too much. I put it down. I read his earlier book, the Keeper of Lost Causes. I was engulfed in the investigation of a presumed dead woman poilitician who is alive and captive by who knows who. None of the characters in his books are likeable or are developed to an extent that I found them interesting except for the Syrian sidekick of the investigator. It is a grey world in Scandanavia. I selected the writer never having read a mystery of this genre. I expect there are better writers.
