The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes

The Sense of an EndingThis is a fictional memoir of a British man who looks back on his uncomfortable relationship with a young woman and her family, as well as his friendship with an unusual fellow student at school. Although I was engaged with the story throughout the book, I couldn’t help but think that the surprising untold story concerning his friend (which is revealed towards the end of the book) would have been the more interesting story to tell! Perhaps that is yet to come. P.S. This book won the 2011 Man Booker Prize and was an international bestseller.
