Wild by Cheryl Strayed

WildThis memoir tells the story of a lost woman who decides to hike the daunting Pacific Crest Trail on her own in an effort to rebuild her life. While not completely knowing what she’s getting herself into, she forges her way through significant obstacles, and the book that results is a well written documentary of her trip. If you’re familiar with Oregon or California it’s a treat to read about places that you’ll recognize. I was a little unconvinced of how well hiking alone for weeks at a time could translate into an entertaining story, but Strayed manages to keep readers involved and turning pages.
