The Financial Lives of Poets: a novel by Jess Walter

Overall, this is a well-written tale of a man who ends up unemployed in the current economy. Realistic enough to be deeply depressing, especially if you are unemployed. It does give a very real vision of how desperate a person can get and how bad things can go. If you can bear to stick with it, there is thankfully a ray of hope at the end.
